DokuWiki is a server-side software based on the wiki philosophy, written in PHP and used without database: the data entered are in fact handled by the filesystem.

The software was developed with the evident intention to provide adequate support to those who need to publish content-type textbook: the name, DokuWiki, is simply a contraction of "documentation wiki."
